Being twenty-two weeks away from family and friends in an environment of structure and discipline can be interpreted as a true CHALLENGE for the Cadets of the Puerto Rico Youth ChalleNGe Academy who unload the intense weekly agenda promoted by the Academy into extracurricular activities.
Extracurricular activities are a space for learning and fun that are coordinated at least twice a month, taking a break from the school agenda to, in a different way, continue with the learning process through a workshop, training or recreational games that allow alternative sensory stimulation in the teaching process of young people,
Each workshop can offer the Cadet, and, in response to the philosophy of the Eight Components of the Puerto Rico Youth ChalleNGe Academy, life skills, work skills and recreation, which is the most promoted through these activities. that beyond educating, the mission transcends the construction of an integral and independent human being.
Some of the training that the Cadets prefer are: culinary arts workshops, t-shirt printing workshops, sewing workshops, drawing in Canva, soap making, bracelet making and of course sports activities which are so popular for their relaxing effect on young people.
These activities are definitely an incentive for the Cadets after a hard week of classes and a structured agenda; a stimulus that is evident in the faces of young people every time they acquire a new skill or manage to acquire new knowledge.
