Christmas at ChalleNGe: A Season of Giving and Serving

The holiday season at the Puerto Rico Youth ChalleNGe Academy was celebrated with a spirit of solidarity and dedication through various community service activities. Our cadets demonstrated that the holidays are also a time to give and contribute to the well-being of those most in need, leaving a positive mark on the communities they impacted.

Service at Hogar Portal de Amor

On December 9, our cadets dedicated their time and effort to performing community service at the Hogar Portal de Amor. Portal de Amor is a non-profit institution dedicated to sheltering, caring for, protecting and attending to the essential needs of children who have been victims of abuse or neglect. . With great dedication, they maintained the green areas, cleaned and organized the children's playhouse. In addition, they delivered donations that contribute to the operation of the Hogar, reaffirming their commitment to this noble cause.

It was not all work; the cadets also shared moments of joy with the children of the Home, giving them smiles and creating unforgettable memories. The visit of our director, Mrs. Matilde Almodóvar, was another significant moment, as she reiterated the commitment of the program and the National Guard to the Hogar Portal de Amor, making it clear that they will always be available to support any need.

Donation of Life to the Blood Bank

That same day, more than 100 cadets joined the cause of the Blood Bank of the Auxilio Mutuo Hospital, donating blood to save lives. This altruistic act reflects the spirit of generosity and commitment of our cadets towards their community.

Celebration of Three Kings Day

On January 3, the Puerto Rico Youth ChalleNGe Academy joined forces with the Unidos para Servir Ministry Foundation, Inc., led by Mr. José Manuel Figueroa Santiago, to carry out an emotional gift delivery for Three Kings Day at the Singapur neighborhood in Juana Díaz. Thanks to the toy donations from Class 25-01, it was possible to bring joy and hope to the children of the community, who enthusiastically received the gifts that illuminated their day with magic and hope.

Tradition of Kings in Almácigo Bajo

On January 4, cadets actively participated in the celebration of the Tradición de Reyes in the community of Almácigo Bajo, Yauco. In collaboration with the Executive Director of the Tradición de Reyes, William J. Rodríguez, gifts and smiles were delivered to the families of the community, reinforcing the spirit of solidarity and mutual support.

A Commitment to the Future

These activities not only reflect the Puerto Rico Youth ChalleNGe Academy's commitment to community service, but also strengthen the values of generosity, empathy, and solidarity in our cadets. Through these actions, we continue to build a brighter future for our communities, full of love and hope.

We are deeply grateful to all the cadets, staff and collaborators who made these initiatives possible. Together, we demonstrated that the true meaning of Christmas is in giving and serving others.
