216 Cadets Graduate from Puerto Rico National Guard’s Youth ChalleNGe Academy Class 25-01

The Puerto Rico National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Academy (GNPR) proudly celebrated the graduation of Class 25-01, marking a major milestone for 216 cadets who successfully completed the transformative program. Each graduate earned a high school diploma and a technical certification, underscoring the positive and lasting impact this initiative continues to have on Puerto Rican youth. The ceremony took place at the Dolores “Toyita” Martínez Coliseum in Juana Díaz.

"The Youth ChalleNGe program is a powerful opportunity for transformation, and it is an honor for the Puerto Rico National Guard to be both a driving force and a witness to another class reaching this important goal," said Puerto Rico’s Adjutant General, Major General Miguel Méndez. "I congratulate each cadet for their dedication and perseverance, as well as their families and mentors for the unwavering support throughout this journey."

Since its founding in 1999, the Youth ChalleNGe program has provided an educational and developmental alternative for youth aged 16 to 18 who have faced challenges in traditional academic settings. Over the course of 22 weeks, participants engage in a comprehensive experience that blends academic instruction, military discipline, and leadership training. Graduates leave the program not only with a high school diploma but also with the tools to shape a successful future.

Beyond academics, Youth ChalleNGe has forged strategic partnerships with educational institutions and private sector organizations to offer technical certifications and employment opportunities. These alliances open doors for graduates to pursue higher education or enter the workforce with valuable skills in hand.

To date, more than 8,500 young people in Puerto Rico have completed the Youth ChalleNGe program, emerging as productive citizens and agents of positive change within their communities.
