201 Cadets complete the Residential Phase

The Puerto Rico Youth ChalleNGe Academy graduated 201 cadets from Class 24-02, which is the 49th Class of the Program. These young people earned their high school diploma and a technical certificate. The academy is also celebrating 25 years of educational excellence. The ceremony was held at the Juan Pachín Vicens Coliseum in Ponce.

“For the past 25 years, the Youth ChalleNGe program has changed the lives of thousands of young people who for some reason dropped out of high school and saw hope for development and growth at the Academy. The commitment and motivation towards students by the ChalleNGe staff make the program a success, as do the cadets. I congratulate the graduates for having taken an important step for their future,” said the adjutant general of Puerto Rico, Major General Miguel Méndez.

Accompanied by their families, mentors and friends, the 201 graduates from 60 municipalities of the Island celebrated this great moment together with the high ranking officers of the GNPR. At the ceremony, 10 Cadets were recognized with the "Adjutant General Awards", which recognize their performance in the 8 components, and the Most Complete Cadet.
