Two hundred and thirty-four Cadets witnessed the moment when two of the most important winter baseball teams in Puerto Rico, Cangrejeros de Santurce and Criollos de Caguas, honored the feat of thousands of men and women members of the National Guard by dedicating to them the game in what is known as the great night dedicated to the “Heroes of the Nation.”

The game, which took place on December 7 at the Hiram Bithorn Stadium in Hato Rey, began at 7:00 p.m. in the presence of hundreds of baseball fans, including young people from Puerto Rico. Youth ChalleNGe Academy who imposed their hubbub and enthusiasm from the stands. One of the most exciting moments for the Cadets was witnessing the entrance of the iconic National Guard Band as a prelude to the delivery of the dedication, a merit that was given to the Adjutant General of the PR National Guard, Division General, José J. . Kings; who was also the guest starter carrying out the first pitch of the night.

The Cadets of Class 23-01 also actively participated in the events of Jay Jay, the Cangrejeros mascot, accompanying him on the mound for the customary halftime dance.

This activity makes a stop in the educational agenda of the Cadets, allowing them to add experiences to the comprehensive education promoted by the Puerto Rico Youth ChalleNGe Academy.
