As part of the processes of the Puerto Rico Youth ChalleNGe Academy (PRYCA) to comprehensively educate young people between the ages of 16 and 18 who wish to reach their high school diploma, the Cadets are exposed to various activities who seek individual maturity.
It is for this reason that the Eight Core Components are a fundamental part of the Academy's curriculum, exposing the Cadets to training activities such as the educational fair, the mock interview, registration with the State Election Commission (CEE) and the writing of a legislative project as a responsible citizen capable of addressing the problems of his environment.
These experiences have left an important mark on the lives of each young person, empowering them with the knowledge and power that comes from feeling a fundamental part of a society that needs them. In addition to promoting self-confidence among young people, promoting greater optimism to face life's challenges.
Prepare them for the world of work?
The mock interview exposes them to a simulated scenario of interaction with an employer. This action helps them prepare for the real interview that must happen before completing their residential period at PRYCA. For its part, the educational fair provides them with tools that will allow them to decide between a range of options for their studies at the post-secondary level, showing them the diversity of existing professions; likewise those of greatest demand.

In accordance with the Responsible Citizenship Component, the more than two hundred cadets were oriented and evaluated by the CEE, referring to the Permanent Registration Board (JIP) those Cadets who, due to their age, are suitable to complete the process and be certified as voters for the upcoming November elections.

The History of Puerto Rico class encourages citizen participation in the identification of problems and solutions to improve the quality of life of their respective communities. After participating in an orientation on the legislative processes and being sworn in as student legislators, the Cadets of Class 24-02 presented their legislative proposals in order to make recommendations to solve some situations that they have identified as precipitating factors that affect the quality of life. of Puerto Ricans.
So with just under two months to go until they achieve their fourth year diploma, the Cadets of Class 24-02 are preparing for life, to be great professionals and responsible citizens willing to receive and take the reins of their future with determination.
